As an Individual volunteer, how can i participate?

Our volunteers are the most important part of our food waste rescue chain. We rely on 10-12 volunteers per dinner. We have many shifts, from food pickups in the morning, cooking in the afternoon, and serving and cleanup in the evening.

Do you have team/office/school volunteering opportunities?

If you're seeking a group activity for your team, office, or school, we offer tailored volunteering opportunities. Simply email us at info@tastebeforeyouwaste.org to schedule a day that works best for you. We'll be delighted to arrange a meaningful experience for your group.

Do you have any non-dinner volunteering opportunities?

Are you skilled in grant applications and have some spare time to contribute? We are currently seeking individuals with experience in grant writing to join our team. If this aligns with your expertise and you're interested in making a difference, please reach out to us at info@tastebeforeyouwaste.org. We appreciate your support.

How can I help beyond volunteering?

Join Taste’s operational team: Love our mission? Are you looking to have a large voice in the organization and impact?  Are you eager to grow your skill sets and experience?  Are you able to dedicate between 5 to 10 hours a week for a few months? Then email info@tastebeforeyouwaste.org with your motivation and skills/interests and we can find a match. We have many positions and are also looking for dedicated members. 

Donate Food: If you have food waste in your office, store, following an event or at home, we can try to collectively find opportunities to rescue food.  You can email info@tastebeforeyouwaste.org.  (Please put ‘urgent’ in the subject if the food needs to be rescued within the day.)

Be a Taste hero: Don’t have time to actively participate.  You are still a valuable part of the food waste rescue chain by simply joining as a guest at our events. Follow us on socials for all our events and tell your friends and community about us.   

Be a Food Hero! We can all make a large impact by being mindful of our own practices in our private and personal lives.  Choose sustainable practices and lifestyle.  Be an advocate for positive changes in your community.  

Donate Cash: Your cash donation allows us to remain donation based, and provide a meal to members of the community that can’t afford a meal.  Any surplus of funds will be reinvested back into the community and growing our impact.
